What Wikiangels are (and what they are NOT)

A “Wikiangel” is somebody with passion and experience on sharing, collaborating, creating with others. Someone with a view on how open and collaborative technologies combined with innovative pedagogical methodologies can help each of us to, better, learn, work and live together.  S/he is a new type of consultant, a trainer, a coach, a facilitator. Someone that can propose, and practice, synergic ways of learning and training in a wiki context, a wiki culture.

The Wikinomics project

The Wikiangels network is also a part of the Wikinomics project in order to contribute to the exploitation of the project’s outcomes. WikiAngels share and collaborate on a wide range of skills to develop a wikinomics culture and, at the same time, they have access to resources (learning material, contacts, events) so as to foster their own business process.

In this context, the wikinomics project on it’s own won’t be enough to provide large scale transition in new pedagogical approaches and Lifelong Learning culture. WikiAngels and other experts will give feedback, evaluate and reuse project’s outcomes at various occasions. WikiAngels provide a new interface with companies and other organizations and expand the area  of Wikinomics targets.

Wiki culture

This is a set of tools and methodologies, and most importantly, a mindset, an attitude that supports exchange of ideas, sharing of common goals, collecting thinking and decision making. A lot have been written on this, have a look on Citoyens du net (text in French, resources in English) and the group on Diigo (https://groups.diigo.com/group/e_culture).

A network, on the making

Wikiangels is a call, a reach out to people that have common experiences and concepts to share. However, Wikiangels is also a network, on the making! Our network has an active participation in various international projects (Wikinomics,  World Bank coaching etc.) on open and collaborative learning practices based on wiki competences deployment.
